Alabama Beach Wedding Information Ah, decisions, decisions. If you are planning a beach wedding in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach Alabama, there will be many to be made. Time of the year: The Alabama Coast enjoys warmer winter time weather than most of the country and it can be very hot and humid in the summer. However most summer beach weddings take place an hour or two before sunset when the temperature normally begins to drop. Often times there is also a good breeze to aid comfort levels. Keep in mind that it can be quite breezy at times. Planning a Unity Candle Ceremony is not a good option for a beach wedding. See our article on Sand Ceremonies. and Blessing Stones Ceremony. Prices of accommodations and other things will be at their highest during the summer months. Winters can at times be cold and rain can set in for days. "Winters," here on the coast are roughly December thru February. It can be hard to know what type of clothing to bring. It can be warm one day and very cool the next. An inside backup location would be a must. One plus for a winter wedding is the fact that prices are at their lowest. This makes spring and fall nice times for beach weddings. April, May, September and October are probably the best months as far as weather is concerned. However, there can be exceptions. Time spent on the beach and swimming might not be as pleasant as in the summer. Some places offer pricing between the summer and winter rates at this time. Time of the day: In this area two or three hours before sunset is really the only choice for beach weddings. Exactly what time will vary by the date. In the summer that is usually around 6 PM. You will want to start early enough to be able to take photographs before the sun gets too low. |
